Moss mileage claims updates: Our reimbursements improvements
At Moss, we create solutions tailored to the needs of both spenders and the finance teams responsible for processing and approving them.
We're introducing several new updates to Moss' mileage claims functionality, designed to make the claims process easier for employees, approvers and finance teams:
Key features for spenders
This release introduces several features aimed at making the process of submitting claims faster and more straightforward:
Define home and office addresses
Spenders can now save both their home and office addresses in their Moss profile. This will make the majority of mileage claims quicker and easier to set up.
Create business travel and commuting journeys with saved addresses
Users can create new journeys using the stored addresses in their profiles and classify them as business travel or commute. This will be of interest to our customers in Germany and the Netherlands where the treatment of different journey types is important.
Recurring mileage claims
Users can set up recurring mileage claims and select multiple dates for a repeated journey. This is a real time-saver for employees who regularly submit mileage claims for commutes or repeat business trips.
Return journeys
Users can now include round-trip mileage in a single claim with the new ‘return’ option, halving the time it takes to complete a mileage claim.
Mileage value adjustments
Moss uses Google Maps for default mileage values, but users can manually adjust distances if needed. Admins can enable or disable this feature in the settings.
Finance team tools
These updates provide finance teams with better control and flexibility over the claims process:
Custom rates for travel and commutes
Finance teams can set company specific rates for both business travel and commutes, although local government rates will remain the default.
Review new mileage fields
Finance teams can also now review all new fields that have been added to a mileage claim, making it easier to ensure that claims are filled out correctly.
Availability and support
If you’re interested in trying out these new updates, they’re available in the UK, Germany, and Netherlands regions today. You can access them through the Moss app on both web and mobile platforms.
